Acknowledgement

At Elu Yoga, we honor and respect the ancient tradition of yoga, which has been practiced for thousands of years. Originating in the sacred lands of India, yoga is a profound spiritual, mental, and physical discipline that has been passed down through generations.

We acknowledge the wisdom and teachings of the ancient yogis and sages who have preserved and shared this invaluable practice. Their dedication and insight have allowed yoga to flourish and reach people all over the world, including our community here in Tacoma.

As we practice yoga, we strive to honor its roots and the rich cultural heritage from which it comes. We are committed to fostering an environment of respect, inclusivity, and mindfulness, ensuring that the essence of yoga is preserved and celebrated.

We express our deepest gratitude to the lineage of teachers and practitioners who have contributed to the evolution and dissemination of yoga. May we continue to practice with humility, awareness, and a deep sense of connection to this ancient tradition.

We also acknowledge that our yoga studio is located on the traditional, ancestral, and unceded territory of the Puyallup Tribe. We honor and express our gratitude to the Puyallup people, who have lived in harmony with this land for thousands of years and continue to do so today.

As we practice yoga, a discipline that promotes mindfulness and connection, we recognize the importance of acknowledging the history and ongoing presence of Indigenous communities. We commit to learning from and supporting the Puyallup Tribe and other Indigenous peoples in our community.
